TUTORIAL: Single Channel Analysis with FITMASTER

PART I:
Configuration

By default, Fitmaster is configured for analysis of pulsed data. For single channel analysis, we have to modify some settings:
  • Overlay Mode in the socilloscope should be turned off
  • Zero Subtraction must be turned off
  • It is helpful to switch the number presentation from "Engineering" to "Scientific" in the Fit Configuration dialog.
  • For clarity We turn the Online Analysis off.

PART II:
Amplitude Histogram

From the data points in a Single channel recording an "Amplitude Histogram" is compiled and fitted with a Gaussian function.

PART III:
Power Spectra

In case the data are too noisy for individual event detection the compilation of a power spectrum can still reveal information about the channel.

PART: IV:
Event Detection: Open Time

Single channel events are detected using the "Single Channel" fit type in the TraceFit dialog. From the event tables e.g. open time histograms can be compiled and fitted.
