Data processing

Even the most versatile analysis software cannot fulfil the wishes of all users. Sometimes it is necessary to use additional software for further analysis or graphical 'fine tuning'. Since each of our customers has its own preferences regarding the software, our products supply defined software interfaces to a couple of commercial analysis and presentation programs.
Generally there are two ways to get figures from acquired data. Either one exports the raw data and creates the figure completely within a third party program, or the figure is drawn by the analysis software, exported as an image file, and finished in an imaging software.

Wavemetrics Homepage

All members of the PATCHMASTER and PULSE family tightly cooperate with IGOR Pro from WaveMetrics. One can export sweeps and results from the Online Analysis to IGOR Pro for further analysis and it is possible to import IGOR Binary Files into the sweep buffer.

Igor is an integrated program for visualizing, analyzing, transforming and presenting data.

Some Igor features are:

  • automation and data processing via a built-in programming environment

With 'Patcher's Power Tools (PPT)', a collection of IGOR XOPs and procedures is available. PPT was developed at the MPI for Biophysical Chemistry in Goettingen, Germany. You can download PPT from the wavemetrics Internet Pages.

DataAccess is a software package that allows direct access to your acquired data for review, graphing, and analysis. It reads data from files, written by PATCHMASTER, PULSE and Acquire, into the most popular analysis programs, including Microsoft Excel, SPSS SigmaPlot, and WaveMetrics IGOR Pro. For more demanding graphing and analysis tasks, you can write scripts or programs using DataAccess. DataAccess supplies a script interface for Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visual Basic, MS-Visual C++, and Wavemetrics IGOR Pro.

The Mini Analysis program is an essential program for neuroscientists who are studying spontaneous activities.
It detects peaks of any type, any shape, and any size. It's flexibility allows detection of vitually any kind of peaks you can imagine, such as, spontaneous miniature synaptic currents and potentials, action potential spikes, calcium imaging peaks, amperometric, ECG peaks etc.
The Mini Analysis Program is bundled with the ABF utility program, which converts PULSE data files and several other data formats.

Channel Lab Homepage

Channel Lab is a single channel simulation and modeling program with over 50 pre-configured kinetic models for ligand-gated channels and other channels to choose from. The user interface was designed for intuitive point-and-click flexibility in model building and analysis.
The Channel Lab Program is bundled with the ABF utility program, which converts PULSE data files and several other data formats.

Raw data and calculation results can also be exported as comma delimited values, a common file format, that can be read by nearly all commercial spread sheet programs. Figures are exported in the widespread vector graphic formats "PICT" and "WMF".
