The MIM 3 is a 3-axis motorized micro-
manipulator with remote control via joystick and the software POS. The resolution is 160 nm in all three axes, over a distance of 25 mm. Four selectable speeds allow coarse and fine movements.

The software POS (for Windows) offers 4 programmable paths and a video microscope image to monitor the movement of the electrode and for documentation of your experiment. Pictures can be saved to disk. POS is available as extension to TIDA 4.x and as stand-alone, to be used e. g. with PULSE. The operator has full control of all the important features of a patch clamp experiment, like stimulation, acquisition, video monitoring, and EPC 9 settings. With the POS stand-alone software, the MIM 3 can be used in any experiment which needs fast, precise, and reproducible micromanipulation, like microinjection, local application of drugs, etc.
